We’ve been talking about this for a couple weeks and now we’re in the final stretch to prepare for one of our biggest construction closures of the summer.
From 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 18 until 5 a.m. Friday, July 25, westbound I-90 at Bellevue Way Southeast will be reduced to one lane, 24-hours a day for a week.
We wouldn’t do this kind of closure if we didn’t have to, but we need to replace two massive (92 feet long, 26,000 pound) expansion joints that are 33 years old and at the end of their useful life. Why can’t we do this on a weekend, or overnight? Great questions! This blog should help answer those and many others. This is going to create some significant suggestion and drivers should prepare for at least an hour-long commute in the morning, a little longer in the afternoon. Anything you or your friends can do to adjust your plans is going to help so be sure to help us spread the word.
