We are writing this letter in support of Sean P. Kelly who is running for Position No. 1 on the Maple Valley City Council.

We have personally known Sean for 24 years first as a student of the Tahoma School District and then as a fellow employee. Sean has always been actively involved in making schools a safe environment for our students and staff by serving on the Tahoma School District Safety Committee and the Washington School Safety Organization.

Sean also puts the safety of our community as a high priority by serving on the Greater Maple Valley Disaster Preparedness Committee, city of Maple Valley Public Safety Oversight Committee as well as the Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety Citizen Advisory Committee.

Not only does Sean want Maple Valley to be a safe community with an outstanding school district, he also wants to assure that Maple Valley keeps its family friendly small town feeling. He has shown this by being the vice president of Maple Valley days and city of Maple Valley Parks and Recreation Commission vice chair.

Sean’s dedication to students and community is also shown by his presence at many community and school district events.
