Public Health temporarily closes Maple Valley restaurant

Published 12:02 pm Friday, January 9, 2015

Lucky Chopsticks in Maple Valley (off Kent-Kangley Rd) was closed by King County Public Health on Thursday, Jan. 8 due to the “imminent health hazard of no available hot water,” Public Health said in a release Friday.

Update: Lucky Chopsticks’ Manager, May Pan, said the issue is with the restaurant’s water heater.

“It sounds like (an employee) just touched a switch on the water heater,” she said.

Pan said they have hot water, it just wasn’t hot “enough.”

According to Pan, a follow up inspection is expected today. If the restaurant passes its follow up inspection by Public Health, they will be able to reopen today, she said.

Update at 2 p.m. Friday: According to Public Health’s website and Pan, the restaurant has reopened as of 1:10 p.m.
