League play is picking up for high school basketball

The Kentlake girls are undefeated and leading the North Puget Sound League 4A Cascade division.

With four games under its belt, the Kentwood boys basketball team is 3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The Conks beat Kennedy Catholic 75-60 and Mount Rainier 81-66 to start the season undefeated in North Puget Sound League play.

League play continued Dec. 13 when Kentwood hosted Kent-Meridian.

That game was played after the press deadline.

Next up for Kentwood is an away game against Tahoma.

Tip off is set for 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.

Tahoma

The Bears are 1-2 in the NPSL and 3-3 overall to start the season.

The league win came Monday over Kent-Meridian 52-43.

The boys are on a two game winning streak after beating Highline Saturday 64-56.

Tahoma hosted Kentlake Tuesday, after the press deadline.

Kentlake

The Falcons are five games into the season and sit in last place in the NPSL 4A Cascade division. The boys are 0-3, 0-5.

The league loses came to Hazen, Kent-Meridian and Mount Rainier.

Following the game Tuesday to Tahoma, the Falcons travel to Kentridge to face the league leading Chargers.

Tip off is set for 7:15 p.m.

Kentlake returns home in the beginning of January when it hosts Kennedy Catholic.

GIRLS

Kentwood

The Conks are undefeated in league play and 2-2 overall.

The girls beat Kennedy Catholic 56-41 and Mount Rainier 66-52.

On Tuesday, Kentwood traveled to Kent-Meridian to play the Royals.

The game was played after the press deadline.

Kentwood is set to host Tahoma Friday.

Game time is set for 7:15 p.m.

Tahoma

Six games into the season and the Bears are 2-1 in league play and 5-1 overall.

The girls beat Kennedy Catholic 59-39 and Kent-Meridian 44-26.

The Falcons hosted Tahoma Tuesday after the press deadline.

Tahoma will then travel to Kentwood Friday.

Kentlake

The Falcons are leading the league with an undefeated record.

The girls are 3-0 in league play and 6-0 overall.

The league wins came against Hazen, Kent-Meridian and Mount Rainier.

Kentlake faced Tahoma Tuesday and is set to host Kentridge Friday.
