Kentwood advances to state football playoffs

Tayvonne Miller ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns and Justin Seiber passed for 283 yards and two more TDs as Kentwood defeated Jackson of Mill Creek 44-14 in a district playoff game at French Field last Friday night.

The Conquerors (8-2) advance to play at top-ranked Woodinville (10-0) in the first round of the state 4A playoffs. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Saturday. It is Kentwood’s first trip to the state playoffs in seven years.

Kentwood jumped out to a 27-0 lead. It amassed 519 yards of total offense.

Jake Moore caught six passes for 107 yards and a TD for the Conks. Stephen Watson also had six receptions for 43 yards and a TD.

Mason Glover ran for one touchdown.

Luke Klein delivered three sacks.

At Lake Stevens 51, Kentlake 0: Tre’ Long passed for 245 yards and four touchdowns as the Vikings (9-1) eliminated the Falcons (5-5) last Friday night to advance to the state playoffs.

At Union 41, Tahoma 14: The Bears took on Union Friday at McKenzie Stadium, Vancouver, Washington. The Bears scored a touchdown in the third and fourth quarters of the game.
