FASTPITCH: Fifth and final playoff spot looks to be a lock for Tahoma

It’s been two steps forward then two steps back lately for Tahoma fastpitch.

After beating Auburn and Kentridge week before last, they lost to Auburn Riverside last Tuesday and Kentwood Thursday, but not before giving the Conks a run for their money

Tahoma came back from down 5-1 while sophomore Karyssa Marbet was pitching in relief to get to 5-4 but Kentwood picked up two more runs in the top of the seventh to seal the victory. Tahoma went to Federal Way on Friday and beat up on the Eagles, winning 20-8. With one more game left in South Puget Sound League play Tahoma looks like it will hang onto the fifth and final playoff spot for the second year in a row.

Tahoma plays Kent-Meridian tomorrow at 4 p.m. at home.
