Seven South County fire agencies offer joint hiring process

Applicants can apply online once for all seven departments

Seven fire agencies in South King County formed Wa Fire Careers in an effort to streamline and simplify the process of becoming a firefighter, making it more affordable, accessible and inclusive for all.

Entry Level Firefighter registration is now open online for WAFireCareers partner agencies – Enumclaw Fire Department, King County Fire District #20, Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority, South King Fire & Rescue, Tukwila Fire Department and Valley Regional Fire Authority.

The departments announced the joint entry level firefighting recruitment and hiring process in a Feb. 25 media release.

“Being a firefighter is a highly rewarding profession, with the opportunity to help community members in times of emergencies,” according to the release. “It is also a physically and emotionally challenging profession, with the call to put others before yourself.”

Anyone that might be interested in a career in the fire service and would like to learn more about the recruit academy, fitness requirements and to view frequently asked questions, should visit wafirecareers.org.

To register and start the hiring process, visit National Testing Network, select Firefighter in the “Find Jobs” drop-down menu, select “Washington,” and then select WAFireCareers partner agencies. This will register you automatically for the seven partner fire departments for the price of a single test.

To learn more about each fire department, visit each individual department’s website.
