Black Diamond Police Blotter from Jan. 11-15

Jan. 11

• HONEST DRUNK: 31100 block of 3rd Avenue.  A male driver was arrested for DUI after an officer observed his vehicle traveling with an obstructed license plate. Upon stopping the vehicle the officer immediately observed signs of intoxication on the male driver, who admitted to drinking recently and agreed to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed.  The driver was placed under arrest and during a search of his vehicle several open cans of beer were located. The driver was transported to Enumclaw Jail where the DUI process was completed. The driver provided breath samples above .08 and he was booked into jail.

Jan. 13

• ASHES TO ASHES: 32800 block of Railroad Avenue. An owner of the business was cleaning out the basement of her new building when she found a metal container containing ashes.  A label on the metal urn listed the ashes as being that of Helen C. Morrison (1880-1977). Police are currently attempting to locate next of kin.  If anyone has information on Morrison’s next of kin, please contact the Black Diamond Police Department.

Jan. 15

• FAMILY FEUD: 23000 block of SE 290th Street. Police officers were dispatched to a home after a husband and wife got into a dispute with their juvenile son. The father was attempting to get the keys to the son’s vehicle and when he refused they started wrestling over the keys. There were no injuries and it was determined that no assault occurred. The officers provided guidance at the scene and the parties were separated for the evening.
