Help make the magic happen for Maple Valley’s Holiday Lights Celebration!

The annual event is set for 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Lake Wilderness Park, Lodge and Arboretum.

Event coordinators are looking for volunteers to string lights through the Arboretum during special Saturday work parties.

“Help create the sights that will be seen at the City’s annual holiday event,” said Jennifer Edelhauser, who represents Maple Valley Parks & Recreation. “We invite anyone aged 14 or over to volunteer — community service hours gladly given!”

Arboretum work parties are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 23 and 30.

Those interested have several ways to sign up: 1) contact the Arboretum by email at director@lakewildernessarboretum.org; 2) call the Maple Valley Parks & Recreation at 425-432-9953; 3) email Ms. Edelhauser at Jennifer.edelhauser@maplevalleywa.gov.

Fred Meyer is the title sponsor of this year’s event, which kicks off the holiday season with thousands of LED festive lights seen from the comfort of trackless train and hayrides, creative displays, music and refreshments. Canned food, new toys and cash donations for the Maple Valley Food Bank will be accepted during the event.
