Around 7 p.m. Sunday, March 12 the Washington State Patrol responded to reports of a collision on southbound Interstate 405 near state Route 167 in Renton.

It was reported that a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle that led the scene before troopers arrived.

In a media release Monday, witnesses reported the vehicle that fled was a yellow Corvette. The release continued that witnesses said the vehicle drifted from lane four to lane three at a high rate of speed when the vehicle then hit the motorcycle.

The collision caused the rider to be ejected. The motorcyclist suffered two broken legs.

Due to the nature of the injuries and fleeing the scene, the driver is being sought for felony hit and run, the release said.

Thanks to debris left at the scene, detectives were able to determine that the suspect vehicle is a yellow 2006-2013 Chevrolet Corvette-C6 Generation.

The suspect vehicle will have a hole in the fiberglass above the right front wheel well and damage to the passenger side mirror, the release said.

The Washington State Patrol is asking for any witnesses or anyone with additional information to contact Detective Brody Ford at 425-401-7742 or by email at brody.ford@wsp.wa.gov.
