Teamsters Local 174 members ratify contract with Waste Management

labor agreement with Waste Management Sunday, May 2, at the union headquarters in Tukwila.

The agreements is a five-year contract.

The drivers provide trash, recycle and yard waste services for King and Snohomish counties including Maple Valley.

The contract bring to a close a labor dispute that reached a stalemate in early April. The drivers walked off the job for two days April 21 and 22, but ended the strike when the two side returned to the bargaining table.

The Teamsters settled a labor contract with Allied Waste Service, which is owned by Republic Services with corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz. The contract between the union and Allied was ratified April 11.

Allied serves Black Diamond, Covington and a small area of Maple Valley.
