The Tahoma High robotics team, Bear Metal, competed in Ellensburg March 21, 22, and 23 where they became the first team in Washington state to receive the Chairman’s Award two years in a row.

Bear Metal is a FIRST Robotics team and the Chairman’s award is the highest honor that FIRST awards. A team is awarded this honor when they work hard not only to build a robot but to encourage students in their community to get excited about STEM education.

Winning this award also qualifies Tahoma to compete in the world championship competition in St. Louis this April.
