The Sierra Club South King County Group, Friends of Soos Creek Park, and Rainier Audubon in coordination with King County Parks will be hosting a large habitat restoration event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Soos Creek Park and Trail in Kent.

The work area is located at Gary Grant Park along the Soos Creek Trail on the north side of Southeast 208th Street at 137th Avenue Southeast west of Lake Youngs.

They will enhance an area adjacent to Soos Creek and around two ponds by planting 750 upland native trees and shrubs where blackberries have recently been cleared.

Tools, drinks, and snacks will be provided.  Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves and dress for the weather, as this is a rain-or-shine event.
