Morning commutes on SR-169 feeling flood after-effects

Drivers using State Route 169 between Maple Valley and Renton might face partial lane closures and delays the next few months – especially in the mornings – as flood damage is repaired, according to the state Department of Transportation.

A retaining wall at the Cedar River in Renton needs to be fixed. Until repairs are made, the right northbound lane of SR-169 will be closed between 140th Way Southeast and the river. The left northbound lane will remain open, DOT officials said.

Southbound traffic on the highway won’t be affected, officials added.
