The city of Maple Valley, which is recruiting volunteers to serve a two-year term on its 2009-10 Lake Wilderness Citizen Advisory Committee, has extended the application deadline to Oct. 17.
The committee represents city residents’ and property owners’ interests to the City Council on aquatic-plant management activities for Lake Wilderness. Committee members provide input and issue a year-end report to the council and city officials and to the Lake Wilderness Preservation Association regarding the health of the lake.
Four positions on the five-member committee are open. Members must live in the city or own property there, and at least one member owns shoreline property at the lake. Members are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council and meet four times a year.
Applications are available at www.ci.maple-valley.wa.us, at City Hall (22035 SE. Wax Road) and at (425) 413-8800.
