Members of the Local 3062 Maple Valley Fire Fighters participated in their annual Fill the Boot fundraiser event on Friday, August 17.

The campaign raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The fire fighters walked the roads at the Four Corners intersection, SE Kent Kangley Road and Maple Valley Black Diamond Road Southeast.

Last year, the Maple Valley Fire and Emergency Services Department raised over $10,600 for MDA, adding to the International Association of Fire Fighters’ (IAFF) national total of more than $28 million.

Proceeds raised during the street-side campaign will support life-saving research and services to families in King County, including MDA Summer Camp in Lake Stevens, genetic counseling, clinics, and local support groups.

MDA is the non-profit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research.
