Loyal Companions, a local 4-H club that focuses on dog care and training, is expanding to include an emphasis on creative and performing arts. The club will be hosting a kick-off event Jan. 15 at the Fairwood branch of the King County Library. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and include a craft project, information about the club and snacks. Loyal Companions is open to students in kindergarten through grade 12.

The Fairwood library is located at 17009 140th Ave. SE Renton.
