• Romance readers, writers and book lovers are in for a special treat at Covington Library 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Covington Library and the Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America. The Romance Extravaganza will begin with a keynote address by romance author Amanda Quick, followed by panel discussions from authors of historical romances and paranormal romances.

A book-signing event will take place at noon. Prior to the event, Covington Library will serve as host for this month’s regular monthly meeting of the Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America—romance writers in the area are welcome to join.

• The 43rd Annual Black Diamond Library Plant Sale will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Black Diamond Community Center 31605 Third Avenue. Please note the location change.

Friends of the Black Diamond Library will be selling native plants, garden books and much more.

Proceeds from the event support the library’s children and youth programs.
