Jim Flynn will work for the better of all on Maple Valley City Council

Some recent letters to the editor have been on the very negative side with regard to Jim Flynn, a candidate running for a City Council seat in Maple Valley.

Some recent letters to the editor have been on the very negative side with regard to Jim Flynn, a candidate running for a City Council seat in Maple Valley.

One thing many of you negatives may have forgotten is that Jim Flynn has been working toward the betterment of the city of Maple Valley from its inception.

His prior years served on the City Council give him the experience needed to continue as a councilor who has the needs of the community first and foremost, and will work toward those goals.

He, as well as his family, have unselfishly donated their time and dollars to projects that would not have been financially possible had budget funds been needed.

One example is the access street behind the QFC store at Wilderness Village center. This street, known as Tahoma Road, is very well traveled and has eliminated for many of us, the task of trying to enter Witte Road from the side drive. The entire cost of this venture was taken on by the Flynns.

Jim has also been there whenever special advertisement for the community was needed.

An example is when the library guild functions, as well as Tahoma High School special events needed to be made. Information that other businesses have wanted to charge fees for.

Many events held at Lake Wilderness this past summer have been sponsored by Flynn Development. Functions that I’m sure many residents enjoyed. Yes, his company sponsored functions, but Jim has been the person to initiate that sponsorship. These events were provided at no cost to the city.

Many of us were especially thankful when last winter our driveways and access roads were cleared by Jim and “his plow.” Asking no thanks, just helping out his community.

We need Jim Flynn to represent us on the Council again, as a guarantee that when we want to be heard, he will be there to represent our needs and not the needs of fellow council members or their private agendas.
