Homeowner wakes up to find burglar in bedroom | Police Blotter

COVINGTON

Jan. 30

VANDALISM: 17400 block of Southeast 270th Place. Someone used a concrete block to smash out the window of a vehicle driven by a U.S. Army recruiter, who is based at a recruiting station just a block away, while the car was in the Walmart parking lot. The Army has an agreement with Walmart that allows recruiters to park government vehicles in the store’s northwest parking lot.

Jan. 29

VANDALIZED: 17000 block of Southeast Wax Road. While working at Covington Elementary, a man’s vehicle which was parked in the school lot, was vandalized which is becoming a problem at the school, the victim told police.

MISCHIEF: 26600 block of Timberlane Driver. A quartet of 10 year olds were amusing themselves by throwing rocks into a greenbelt when an errant toss ended up shattering the rear window of a nearby car.

Jan. 28

BANNED FOR LIFE: 17400 block of Southeast 270th Place. Two males were caught trying to steal a number of video games at Walmart and were subsequently trespassed from Walmart for life.

UNPLEASANT WAKE UP CALL: 27000 block of 200th Avenue Southeast. The victim woke up and found a burglar taking items from their bedroom. The burglar entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door in the rear of the home.

FRAUD: 17600 block of Southeast 272nd Street. Two suspects attempted to use a stolen driver’s license and account number to withdraw money from the victim’s account at US Bank.

Jan. 29

BAD BIKER: Southeast 276th Street and 216th Avenue Southeast. A cyclist was stopped by police for not following the rules of the road but police then discover the cyclist had illegal prescription pills as well as burglary tools in his possession.

Jan. 28

SO HUNGRY: 26900 block of State Route 169. Two people were caught stealing food from the Four Corners Safeway. Store management asked that the shoplifters be trespassed but did not want them to be prosecuted.

Jan. 27

NOT TOO FRIENDLY: 27400 block of 226th Avenue Southeast. A woman believes that her ex-boyfriend keyed her truck.

Jan. 26

STOLEN IDENTITY: 26600 block of 221st Avenue Southeast. Someone used a the victim’s social security number to get a job at a catering company in Tacoma. The woman discovered this when she received a letter from DSHS about the use of her social security number.
