The Greater Maple Valley Unincorporated Area Council next regular monthly meeting is scheduled for 7-9:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2 at the King County Sheriff’s Office Precinct No. 3, 22300 Southeast 231st Street, Maple Valley.

The topic to be discussed is the council’s final deliberations and vote on recommended changes to the King County Code. This three-month effort specifically addressed potential rural area impacts from large urban developments. It was precipitated by the 6,000 home master planned developments proposed by YarrowBay in Black Diamond, which are expected to have far reaching effects on all of southeast King County including the rural area.

All members of the public are invited to attend. During an Open Comment period at the start of the meeting members of the public can address the council on local issues of importance to them.
