Fallen tree knocks out power in Maple Valley

A tree fell on power lines at Witte Road and 228th Street today, March 29, knocking power out to about 2,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in and around Maple Valley.

A tree fell on power lines at Witte Road and 228th Street today, March 29, knocking power out to about 2,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in and around Maple Valley.

The power outage occurred at about 4:30 p.m.

Heavy rains and wind may have caused the tree to fall.

Crews from PSE were on the scene working to restore power. PSE did not have a estimate work would be completed.

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety firefighters were also on the scene assisting with closing the road and directing traffic.

The National Weather Service is predicting rain and possible thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.
