A two vehicle crash at the intersection of South 196 Street and 68 Avenue South or West Valley Highway at 8 p.m. tonight sent two people to the hospital.

Kent firefighters and King County Paramedics treated and transported an adult woman driving a pickup truck that was T-boned by a panel truck as she traveled north on 68 Avenue South . The adult male driving the panel truck was also seriously injured in the crash as he traveled west on South 196 Street and was also transported to the hospital by paramedics. Each vehicle had only the one occupant. The Tukwila Fire Department also had a fire engine respond to the incident. Those firefighters deployed a fire hose as a precaution due to fuel and oil leaking from the panel truck.

Kent police are investigating the crash to determine who was at fault. Portions of the intersection were closed for over an hour while tow trucks worked to upright the panel truck which had ended up on its side. Contents from the panel truck were thrown throughout the intersection.

It is unknown whether either driver was wearing their seat belt.
