Celebrate the start of Oktoberfest at the Maple Valley Farmers’ Market

Mixed greens, beets, zucchini, apples, basil, squash – it’s harvest time in the valley and the produce stands at the Maple Valley Farmers’ Market are filled with vegetables and fruits.

Also available are clams, crab, oysters, organic beef, flower bouquets beginning at only $5, loaves of artisan breads and prepared foods like burgers, peach cobbler, caramel chocolate bar and lattes.

There are the art booths with a weekly variety of wood carvings, jewelry, pincushions, photography and more.

The musical entertainment for this week’s Farmers’ Market will be provided by Flutecircle, beginning at 11:15 a.m., and Vine Maple Place will provide an informational booth. Animal questions can be answered by the South King County Spay and Neuter group, who will also have a table at Saturday’s Market.

Four more weeks remain of the inaugural season, which ends on Oct. 10. The Market is located at Rock Creek Elementary School in Maple Valley from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
