Car over embankment and driver arrested on King County warrant | Black Diamond Police Blotter

OFF ROAD: State Route 169. It was reported to officers a vehicle had driven off the road along state Route 169 and Southeast 288th Street. Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle down a 10-foot embankment and the man was still sitting in the driver’s seat. The man advised he was uninjured and just cut the corner too sharply. The officers did not observe any signs of medical or intoxication issues. During the accident investigation a records check of the male driver showed he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from the King County Sheriff’s Office. The man was placed under arrest and booked into custody. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

  • DUI: 25000 block of Roberts Drive. A citizen of Black Diamond notified an officer that he was nearly involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle that was traveling on the wrong side of the road near the 25000 block of Roberts Drive. The citizen gave the officer a description of the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle was located near the police department parking lot with the male driver passed out in the driver’s seat. The citizen positively identified the vehicle as the one that nearly hit him. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted and the man was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Additionally, a drug recognition officer evaluated the male subject for being under the influence of drugs. Upon submitting to a blood draw the driver was provided a criminal citation with a mandatory court date.

  • DUI: 31100 block of the 3rd Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle heading northbound around midnight in the 31100 block of the 3rd Avenue without headlights. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the male driver. The officer identified the man by his driver’s license and immediately noticed a strong odor of an alcohol on his breath. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Upon submitting to a breath test the driver was booked into Enumclaw jail on a charge of DUI.
