Car fire spreads to house | Maple Valley Fire Report

CAR FIRE: 25500 block of Lake Wilderness Country Club Drive. At about 4 a.m. aid 81, engine 81 and battalion chief 81 were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire. Engine 81 was first on the scene and found a car fully involved with fire and flames that extended to the house. Firefighters initiated an attack to stop the extension of the fire, upgraded the incident to a residential house fire and requested that additional apparatus be dispatched. Engine 80, engine 83 and Kent Fire Department engine 78 responded. Gasoline was leaking from the vehicle which kept fueling the fire and delaying extinguishment. About 20 minutes and 1,000 gallons of water later the fire was put out. The cause is under investigation.

May 27

ACCIDENT:18800 block of S.E. Maple Valley Highway. At 7 p.m. firefighters and emergency personnel were dispatched to a single vehicle accident. Aid 81, engine 81 and battalion chief 81 responded and found a single car that had crashed into a fence and gone over an embankment. Witnesses reported the vehicle went through a red light and then off the road. A medical condition may have contributed to the accident. The patient was extricated from the vehicle, treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital.
