Body found in house fire

An adult male body was found at a mobile home fire in Covington.

The following is a press release from the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

The body of an adult male was discovered by firefighters at a mobile home fire in the 28400 block of 168 Avenue Southeast in Covington.

Calls to 911 were first received shortly after 9 p.m. of smoke from inside the mobile home. Several of those who reported the fire indicated that there was someone possibly trapped inside.

When the first units arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the back of the residence.

Because of the possibility of someone being inside, firefighters from Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Maple Valley Fire, and Mountain View Fire quickly entered the home to try and rescue the resident.

Unfortunately, the person was already deceased.

Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters exited the home to protect the scene for the King County Fire Investigator, who will determine the fire’s cause.

The identity of the victim and cause of death will be determined and released by the King County Medical Examiner.
