Vote yes on Tahoma levy | Letter to the Editor

Tahoma School District was recently ranked as one of the top ten school districts in Washington, and has been a major driver of economic growth for many years in our community.

I was proud to be one of the ‘yes’ votes several years ago that helped pass the bond allowing for our new high school, new elementary school, and significant upgrades, additions and improvements to school facilities district wide. I was also honored to sit as a member of the Bond Oversight Committee and personally witness the diligence, transparency and tremendous work by our district leaders that went into carefully planning and stretching the bond dollars as far as possible to benefit the entire district.

The impact of the bond on our schools and also our community has been tremendous, and we must continue the forward momentum. Our children are the future and looking at our district today, I see the ability to build upon the amazing foundation we have to continue to give our children the best possible education and opportunities, enable our children to be future ready, and encourage them to become community and business leaders going forward. As a mother of two children in the Tahoma School District, and a local business owner, I am again voting ‘yes’ on the Educational Programs and Operations Levy and encourage you to do so as well.
