Vote no on Prop. No. 1 for RFA | Letter to the Editor

We have all received a special election ballot in our mailboxes asking us to approve Proposition No. 1.

Several years ago when this new, expensive, extra layer of government known as the “Regional Fire Authority” was promoted, many of us saw what this money-hungry beast would become — tried desperately to warn voters but enough foolish people fell for their false arguments about “reducing fire insurance costs” and making the fire department more “efficient” to approve the creation of the RFA.

Very quickly we discovered a new, added cost to our property tax bill with the nice-sounding name “fire benefit charge.”

We all love and respect the brave men and women who actually fight fires and rescue people suffering from medical emergencies but this RFA monster is for the political benefit of the administrative brass.

Please read your voters pamphlet opposition statement.

Let’s reject Prop. No. 1.
