Vote Cimaomo for Covington City Council | Letter to the Editor

Without a doubt, Joseph Cimaomo deserves re-election to the Covington City Council and is the most qualified candidate. I have known Joe for several years now and it has been my pleasure to watch Joe be a voice for this community. He is a wonderful husband and father to his family and is devoted to his church. Joe is also an excellent employee to his employer. Joe is honest and fair and will thoughtfully listen to and consider other points of view. Moreover, because Joe listens, Joe knows what Covington wants and needs and keeps the community informed to get things done.

Joe is a respected and dedicated leader. He makes public safety a strong priority. As an example, Joe vigorously opposes the so-called “safe injection sites” in Covington, and is working hard to keep them out of Covington. He has also worked with the Timberlane community’s new block watch group to assist them in finding new ways to report crime and liaison with the police for new patrols. Joe gets involved.

Joe also cares about helping keep Covington from being needlessly taxed. As an example, even though it ultimately passed, he opposed the increase in license tab fees for Covington residents.

Covington is a thriving, growing community and needs experienced, consistent leadership. It’s no wonder Joe has been endorsed by many other community leaders. By contrast, Joe’s opponent lacks recent community experience and has not been involved in community affairs in years. Citizens of Covington can see examples of Joe’s dedicated involvement and leadership and as a city councilman, Joe Cimaomo will continue to help Covington be a wonderful and desirable place to live. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

With pride, please join me in supporting Joseph Cimaomo for re-election to the Covington City Council.
