Thank you for your support in this year’s election

Dear residents of Black Diamond,

Who would believe a small town girl like me would be your next City Council member? I feel so proud that over the past 11 years of volunteering, while building lasting relationships in our community has paid off! I’m overwhelmed with the abundance of support I received before, during and after my campaign. Thank you to our local firefighters, police officers, city staff, dedicated volunteer groups and local family owned businesses. Thank you to my neighbors, close friends and most of all the enduring letters from longtime residents. The amount of compassion this city has, just melts my heart and reminds me why I want to represent you. I would love to thank my husband Shawn and my children for their endless encouragement, love and patience they gave me along the way.

As we have a long road ahead of us, I truly believe our city can be a “well-oiled machine” ready to take on anything. We have the strength to work together, willingness to learn from one another and the ability to continue to make this city great for generations to come. I promise to educate myself, do my homework, listen and take into consideration, everyone’s thoughts when I’m making decisions for our city. I know it will take some time to learn the ropes but, I know I can do it with the knowledge and support from residents like you.

Thank you Black Diamond for believing in me, as much as I believe in you. I feel honored to represent you and our city.

Sincerely,

Melissa Oglesbee

Black Diamond City Council
