Tahoma School District construction bond is better than the alternative | Letter

I’d like to take a moment to encourage you to take the opportunity to approve the Tahoma School District bond. Our family will be voting to approve because we believe that strong, quality schools mean opportunities to enjoy more quality, varied and educational experiences for our community. I’d like to take a moment to encourage you to take the opportunity to approve the Tahoma School District bond.

Our family will be voting to approve because we believe that strong, quality schools mean opportunities to enjoy more quality, varied and educational experiences for our community.  Providing adequate space and up-to-date facilities create an optimal learning environment.

When comparing the bond-funded projects versus the potential options in the event of a bond failure, there is no debate for us that the approval far outweighs the expense and inconvenience of failure.  The expense and chaos created by multitrack calendars will create scheduling chaos and the burden of additional childcare cost for many families when student schedules are out of sync.

A strong school district will add value and desirability to local real estate and continue to build a community that attracts and retains residents that value academic opportunity and performance.

None of the bond failure options are acceptable for families that prefer maximum opportunities for students – we value advanced placement classes, broad elective choices, all-day kindergarten, aligned student schedules and optimal class size and space.

More than providing adequate classroom space and maintained structures, the bond will add school libraries with current technology and modern science rooms.

It will address the issue of overcrowding that causes students to sit on the floor to eat lunch and hallways that are way too physically congested.

Please ensure the approval of the Tahoma School District construction and remodeling bond measure by casting your vote to approve the proposition as soon as you receive your ballot.

Please don’t let the opportunity slip past. Fill out your ballot, put a stamp on it and drop it in your nearest mailbox ASAP!  Learn more at www.tahomavote.org.
