Yes, the teachers are amazing but I have become aghast at the overcrowding, substandard facilities, lack of community support, lack of funding.
State law allows cities to impose a city utility tax up to 6 percent without voter approval. Covington imposed a 6 percent utility tax on gross income with no deductions for state or city utility taxes.

As the year 2012 comes to an end, the Black Diamond Community Center has a food bank full of food to feed the hungry, warm coats and blankets to take away the winter chill, and activities for seniors, youth and community groups that keep us healthy.
Once again our Maple Valley city govt. has amazed, but not amused us.
Once again, garbage trucks, a tow truck, a school bus, and a police car all collided to provide the children and families of Maple Valley a safe alternative to Trick or Treating.
You may have been disappointed regarding the ballot box results. However, I encourage you accept the voice of the people and to become more engaged in the process. Washington elected to retain single-party rule for at least another term.
