The Lake Wilderness Arboretum would like to thank all the volunteers who helped out at the Western Azalea Celebration May 19 and congratulate Patty Davis, past president, for being selected as this year’s Golden Maple Leaf Award winner for the city of Maple Valley.

Thank you to David Johnston, Greg Brown, Tannley DeVincent, Patty and Michael Davis, Cindy Ostermann, Chris Neorr, Criss Vefick, Betty Culbert, Ione Tufts, Noel Patterson, Maggie Westerlund, Debbie Fuchs, Bob Dunning, and Marie, Nico and Lane Lindblom.

“Many hands make light work.”

The celebration is held yearly so that we may enjoy this wonderful collection of plants and recognize those whose efforts are responsible for preserving the collection in our arboretum in Maple Valley. The celebration was a great success despite the rain and the wind. Again, thanks to all that contributed their time and efforts.

Colby Collier
