Jennifer Harjehausen has a demonstrated history of engagement, advocacy and leadership in the Covington community. As a candidate for Covington City Council Position No. 2, Jennifer has my support. Jennifer and I first worked together in a volunteer capacity in 2008 on the Kent Area Council PTA. Jennifer has also served in leadership roles, including president and legislative chair, at her children’s cooperative preschool and school PTAs.
Jennifer is a committed, responsible and solution oriented leader. She listens to community members and advocates for change on their behalf. When parents were concerned that the Kent School District was considering closing Cedar Valley Elementary School, Jennifer initiated and led a grassroots campaign to save the school. She has also interviewed state legislative candidates to find out their positions, and communicates with state legislators during the legislative session to advocate for changes benefiting children and families. The citizens of Covington will benefit from Jennifer’s leadership on the City Council.
