Covingtn Student Art Walk brightened the city for all

I am writing to congratulate the Covington Arts Commission, the Covington business community and all of the fine young artists who have brightened the city this past month, thanks to the wonderful art being displayed as part of the Covington Student Art Walk.

I understand that an unprecedented number of artworks were entered in the walk this year, and when Covington

Arts Commissioner Betty Nomura took some of us on a tour of the art walk recently, I was delighted to find expressive and thought-provoking pieces at every turn.

I am proud that the Covington Arts Commission is a member of

SoCoCulture.org, a coalition of more than 60 arts and heritage organizations in South King County. The aim of all of our members is to promote cultural opportunities locally, a mission that becomes even more vital in the face of daunting economic times. Clearly the Arts Commission is doing a wonderful job, thanks to the energy of committed volunteers and the support of the city.
