Valley Medical Center opens Renton Landing Urgent Care

Valley Medical Center opened the Renton Landing Urgent Care facility today. The 4600 square-foot clinic provides walk-in, extended hour access for non-emergency, acute illness and injury care that is either beyond the scope or availability of a primary care practice.

“Urgent Care is not intended to replace hospitals, but it does serve an important function, eliminating the need for non-emergency visits to the ER, and often providing faster and more affordable treatments,” Paul Larson said, senior vice president, Valley Medical Center Clinic Network.

Renton Landing Urgent Care clinicians are available to see patients, from infants to the elderly, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. According to the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine, there are approximately 8,700 urgent care centers in the U.S. The estimated number of emergency departments in the U.S. is 4,600. And according to the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) in the US, the number of urgent care centers is increasing by about 300 per year.
