Bruce Hudson, a professional photographer who lives in the Maple Valley area, will be at the Ivar’s restaurant in Kent Jan. 24 to sign copies of his book about customer service and relationships in business.

“The Relationographer: The Art of Relationship Marketing” features examples of what Hudson considers successful business models based on the kind of “ongoing relationships” that he develops with his own clients, Hudson said.

The Ivar’s at 25405 104th Ave. SE., where he’ll be from 1 to 4 p.m., is one of those case studies. Others include Java Java Coffee and dentists Joel and Danny Rude in Maple Valley.

Hudson, who grew up in Kent and has operated a photography studio in Renton for the past 26 years, said relationships with customers that evolve over the years “can be the one thing that is the difference between surviving or thriving” for businesses.
