At the Maple Valley City Council meeting Monday, Aug. 24, City Manager David Johnston presented Finance Director Shawn Hunstock with the Professional Finance Officer Award in recognition for his continued professional development and achievements in the governmental finance arenas. Hunstock has received this award for nine consecutive years.
Designated Washington Finance Officers Association (WFOA) professional finance officers must meet required annual criteria, submit a renewal application and receive committee approval each year without a lapse. Should a lapse occur, they are no longer eligible for future participation in the PFO program.
